'Forever can never be long enough for me..'

I'm awfully behind on posting this wedding-posting to my blog period.  Any who, let me start by saying every time I'm asked to shoot a wedding there is this instant rush of pressure and anxiety that comes over me.  Why?  Because Weddings are a BIG deal!  You know how we always seem to ask our friends who are engaged " Soooo when’s the BIG day?"  EXACTLY.  With that being said, photographing this wedding was extra special because the BIG day was for the only sibling of my friend Jonathan.  I've known him since I was 12, he's always been a big supporter and he is one of my closest friends.  Talk about pressure!  When he called and told me Mike proposed to his sister Lindsey, I knew right then I wanted to photograph their wedding and that it would turn out just as it did because of Lindsey's personal style. Lindsey was pretty low key when it came to planning the wedding and practically made everything herself with the help and support of family and close friends (check the bouquets, boutonnieres, and her head piece, which I LOVE).  Not to mention the beautiful borrowed jewelry from her aunt & a delicious dinner and dessert later that evening from Mama G!  The official reception took place the following day at Mike’s parents home and was off the chain!! (oops, can I say that on here?!)  What I meant to say was the reception was so much fun! Although I was merely invited as a guest I played photographer as well, but that's an entirely new post!

On a serious note:  As I reflect on the recent weddings, I've come to realize that it’s more than just a "BIG" day, it’s an experience that you get to share with the people you love.  Big or small everyone does it differently.  So here's to the experience...the moments when they don't know you're still shooting, the things that don't happen or go wrong,  the laughter & tears of joy.  The awkward moments when someone ask “Where did you put the rings?”and the cake you forgot to cut because you were having too much fun!  What can I say?  I'm a sucker for love and intimate weddings.  Congratulations Lindsey & Mike on your future and your soon to be baby boy!
